1. Main functions of Journals Online & Print

JOP is a joint service of the Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) and the Electronic Journals Library (EZB). This service allows you to determine which journals and journal articles are available locally and online. The main functions of the service include:

• Availability search: JOP determines the availability of a searched journal or article online and as print version depending on your institution
• Availability display: JOP indicates whether a searched title is fully or partially available. For local availability, the location is displayed; for online availability, a corresponding link is provided.
• Direct forwarding to full texts: if available, the direct link to the full text is provided
• Free journals: JOP also provides information on free journals that are accessible to everyone
• Extended availability search: The HTML output allows the availability search for other institutions
• Flexible integration possibility: Thanks to the implementation as a web service with the OpenURL standard, JOP can be integrated into various applications such as catalogs and information portals.

2. Presentation options of Journals Online & Print:

JOP offers three different presentation options that you can use depending on the area of application:

• Icon service: Provides a quick overview of availability through dynamically generated graphics.
• HTML service: Presents comprehensive availability information directly in the full title display.
• XML service: Allows flexible design of availability information in XML format (full and brief format available).
