Joint data service of ZDB and EZB

The joint data service of the Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) and the Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek (EZB) enables libraries to obtain holdings and license information from both systems in a standardized procedure. License data from the relevant institution is provided on a daily basis by the EZB via an OAI interface and regularly retrieved from the ZDB. The data is distributed via the ZDB data delivery service via FTP/WWW or OAI and is visible in the ZDB catalog.

1. You would like to use the EZB-ZDB data service to have your institution-specific EZB license data verified in the ZDB?

Then please contact us at info.ezb@ur.de or by telephone and we will discuss the next steps with you and coordinate your activation in close cooperation with the ZDB. To set up the EZB-ZDB data service for you, the following prerequisites are necessary:

  1. You must be registered with the EZB and have agreed to the transfer of your EZB license data in your administration environment. You can do this using the following form: https://ezb.ur.de/admin/datasharing.php?lang=en If you have any questions regarding the release of your license data, please contact info.ezb@ur.de, as well as you are not yet an EZB user institution.

  2. You must be registered with the ZDB and report your EZB-BIBID to the ISIL agency. This is possible using the following change form: https://isil.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/en/submit-changes
(Please only fill in the fields that are to be changed: Library applications / Library ID of the EZB)
If you are not yet registered with the ZDB, you can do this here: https://isil.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/en/request-isil
In case you have any questions about the application, please contact zdb-hotline@sbb.spk-berlin.de.

2. Would you also like to have EZB data on free journals listed in the ZDB?

In addition to your institution-specific license information (yellow traffic light), it is also possible for EZB data on free journals (green traffic light) to be listed in the ZDB via the EZB-ZDB data service. The delivery of free journals can be restricted to specific subject areas. If you would like to receive free journals, please contact us at info.ezb@ur.de or by telephone and we will discuss the next steps with you and coordinate your activation in close cooperation with the ZDB.

3. Who can I contact if I have comments or encounter errors?

There is a mailing list for all institutions that use shared services provided by the ZDB and EZB. Here you can obtain service-specific information. Link to register: https://www.listserv.dfn.de/sympa/info/dnb-ezb-zdb-dienste
