1. What is the IP Ranges API?
EZB institutions record the IP address range of their institution in the EZB. This allows user requests to be assigned to an institution and specific licenses to be provided. The IP Range API is an interface that can be used to query such IP address ranges that have been shared by their EZB institution for subsequent use. This means that the released IP address ranges can be used in third-party systems to assign user requests themselves.
2. Which formats can be issued?
The Collections API uses XML as its format.
3. What information do I get?
The following fields are used to form the data output of the interface:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| ezb_bibid | Library identifier at the EZB (EZB-BIBID) |
| ezb_name | German institution name |
| ezb_name_en | English institution name |
| isil | International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organisations (ISIL) |
| sigel | Library identifier |
| bik | ZDB library identifier (BIK) |
| ip_patterns | IP address ranges of the institution |
4. Who can I contact if I have comments or an error?
There is a mailing list aimed at all EZB data users who regularly access data via the various interfaces of the EZB. Here you can get service-specific information from the EZB team. You can also use that mailing list to discuss with other EZB data recipients users about questions relating to the application, to contribute your own ideas and new approaches.
